The role of the search committee is to guide the process of discerning and following God’s leading in the the selection of the person whom He has already chosen to be the next Lead Pastor. We will do this in such a way as to bring unity between the church congregation, leaders and staff members.
The search committee will:
- Research, discover and define JCC’s history and beliefs
- Develop a clear written profile of a candidate who will match JCC’s needs
- Develop consensus with church leaders and the congregation over the profile
- Be responsible for all promotion and communication within the church regarding this process
- Post the pastoral position description in appropriate places
- Collect all applications and screen applicants
- Work with the Elder board on the final selection process
- Assist in relocation to JCC
- Host a welcomin/get acquainted reception upon arrival of the new Lead Pastor (and we love to party!)
